Town Centre Mixed-Use Development

We were commissioned to design a mixed-use development in a derelict garden plot within the heart of the Petersfield old town, near the market square. The development sought to compliment an already prosperous and vibrant lane off the high street. The proposal benefited Petersfield as a whole, providing a much-needed expansion of its oversubscribed small retail, residential and office stock. The development created a mini enterprise zone for small businesses.

The proposal included an affordable flat, a small office and retail shops to encourage a range of accommodation and rentals for small businesses. As the site was in a conservation area and within the curtilage of a listed building, we worked closely with the council to ensure that this prime site could be embraced as part of the town centre and opened up for a new public use.
